Draw Alive Puts Kids' Art on the Screen at the Children's Museum of Acadiana

A child draws a fish. A few moments later, that same fish is swimming across a digital underwater world through the magic of AI. That is Draw Alive at the Children's Museum of Acadiana in downtown Lafayette, and S1 Technology helped present and support it with LFT Fiber.

The exhibit opened in September 2026. It is now part of a normal museum visit. Scout Real Estate Co. helped build the physical space around it. The museum team folded it into the Learning by Doing approach that has guided their work with Acadiana families for 30 years.

What Draw Alive is

The instructions are simple enough for a four-year-old.

Pick a character. Color it. Scan it. Then look for your creation on the big screen, moving through the scene with drawings other kids made the same afternoon.

It starts with crayons and paper. It ends with something kids made with their own hands showing up in a shared digital world. Along the way, they get a first look at digital tools, cause and effect, design, storytelling, and creative problem-solving.

Why S1 showed up

S1 Technology is a Lafayette company. Our day job is managed IT and cybersecurity for businesses across Louisiana and beyond. We also show up when a local project puts real tools in kids' hands.

We believe that kids do not need a lecture about technology. They need to make something, press a button, and see the system respond. That is how curiosity sticks.

"S1 Technology is proud to help bring Draw Alive to the Children's Museum of Acadiana. Technology touches every part of our lives, and the kids growing up in Acadiana today will be the ones who build what comes next. Our goal is to spark that curiosity early and give kids a hands-on moment where technology feels exciting, creative, and within their reach. If one child walks out of this exhibit wanting to learn how it works, we've done our job."
Hunter Thevis, President and Co-Founder, S1 Technology

LFT Fiber framed its role the same way. The network is infrastructure. The exhibit is what that infrastructure mindset can help unlock for families who live here.

Who brought it together

This was not a one-company project.

  • LFT Fiber and S1 Technology helped present and support the exhibit.

  • Scout Real Estate Co. worked with the Children's Museum of Acadiana on the physical build.

  • The CMA team designed the experience into Learning by Doing and the museum's STEAM programming, including field trips and Camp STEAMology.

Go let them try it

Draw Alive is open now at the Children's Museum of Acadiana in downtown Lafayette.

If you have kids (or a classroom), take them. Watch the screen. Look for the drawing that started as their idea ten minutes earlier.
